I am pleased to announce that Copper Paper will now be hosting a book club: Copper Bound. We’re all quite busy and, save for the avid book worms among us, it can sometimes take the rest of us a bit more effort to commit to fisinishing at least one book per month.
In 2016, one of my goals was to read more books, and a tactic that I thought would help guarantee that I was balancing my psyche–existing in the real world yet still enjoying a fantastic fictional stream of thought that so many authors lead us through–was to alternate between reading fiction and nonfiction.
It went well most of the year, but during the winter I experienced some pretty significant personal events which ultimately led to me becoming a bit too distracted. Many of the books I began to start I would put down “for later.” Of course, later never really came and I would leave books unfinished. Now I am challenging myself to finish every single book I start, *no matter how slow it is.*
The purpose of Copper Bound is to take you with me through this journey, facilitate thought, discussion and growth through the exploration of various books and topics. I will be researching my own books and authors, but I am also happy to take suggestions!
The first book, which I’ve already started reading and would like to finish this month is The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls. It is a memoir so for now that leaves us in the Nonfiction category. Our next book will be fiction. Hopefully you’ll read along with me. And if you already have read it, please join the discussion. I look forward to checking back in with you in June!
